Great video as always Alex. Having tried a number of NLEs including FCPX I am astonished that anybody would pay for what is in my opinion inferior software when Resolve is free. Maybe they think that because you have to pay for a program that it will be better than a free program, which is nearly always the case, but Resolve is very much an exception to that logic.
Good video Alex, thanks for doing all what you do, with popularizing Resolve. I think that people are generally sceptical to both free or relatively cheap software – and a lot o them is unfortunately also poorly skilled (and blame the software for their lack of skills or technical knowledge). Nevertheless they are quite happy to share their equally poor opinion further – we live in internet era 😉 I personally work in industry about 16 years, mostly editing movies and making 3D animations. Worked a lot with Final Cut and Avid, Premiere (regretting), rarely other. I can only tell, that we live now in such wonderful times – when we can use amazing and 100% professional tools like Resolve, Fusion or Blender for free (or for a totally fair price) and in our homes. I also spread the word locally about Resolve – and people that know the business (and how it was before) are amazed with given tools. Take care Alex, regards from Poland.
Great video. Thanks
I am totally agree with Bkristof. all these question you answer are for poorly skilled people.
i switch directly 2 months ago to resolve studio. yes i passed a lot of time to know the software. In fact our mark on the screen are differents, from one software to an other one, then we have to relearn the trick or i will say how to do it in the new edit software. ….
thanks a lot look forward some of your new video.
Fred
Thank you from the southern hemisphere…. Australia.
I do enjoy your clips with cat having lost my darling of 18 years recently.
I have Davinci Resolve 16 studio beta 3 and was hoping to be able to use an external monitor. A couple of youtube clips have said it is possible. Could you explain simply all the steps required for setting up an external monitor .
I got turn them both on ok. I am using windows 10 and was hoping to use either a tv monitor or a tablet with windows 10 on it. I imagine there is some sort of casting thing happens but my options do not seem to be the same as those on youtube.

Hi Alex,
many Resolve users believe that Fusion clips can only be used in the project in which they were created. This is wrong, if you create a fusion clip in the “Power Bin” you can use this “fusion clip” in all other projects. And not only use, but also change without changing the original clip.

Alex could you clarify the differences between the free and pro versions of Resolve? Cheers
